Frequently Asked Questions

Q What are specialty and museum hooks used for?

Specialty hooks fill the gaps for niche hanging projects that standard hooks and hangers can't cover. This includes hanging pictures and decor from the ceiling using drop ceiling hooks, creating adjustable picture displays with Wall Buddies and J-hooks, and other unique applications where a full gallery system isn't needed.

Q How do I install specialty hooks and what tools do I need?

Installation varies by product. Wall Buddies install with a small nail and hook system. Adjustable J-Hook kits mount with screws. Drop ceiling grid hooks clip directly onto ceiling grid T-bars with no tools required. Check each product listing for specific installation instructions.

Q How much weight can specialty hooks safely hold?

Weight capacity varies by product. Drop ceiling hooks support up to 15 lbs. Wall Buddies and J-hooks have their own weight ratings based on wall type and installation. Check each product listing for the specific weight rating.

Q Can I hang pictures from a drop ceiling?

Yes. Our drop ceiling grid hooks clip onto the T-bar of a suspended ceiling grid and support up to 15 lbs. They are ideal for hanging posters, signs, decorations, and lightweight art in offices, classrooms, and retail spaces with drop ceilings.

Q What are Wall Buddies and how do they work?

Wall Buddies are adjustable picture hangers that let you fine-tune the position of a frame after it's on the wall—without making new holes. They come in small and large sizes for wood frames. Once installed, you can nudge the frame left, right, up, or down for perfect alignment.
