Kwik Hanger

S-HWR-4191X

Size: 10 Pack ($0.39 Each)

About the product

Kwik hangers are  light-duty hangers that attach to foam board by four sharp metal prongs on its underside and an arrow-point anchor in the center.  Foam board metal hangers are designed to hang posters or similar items mounted on foam board, (foam core board) or other lightweight backing board but are not framed.

  • Press-in metal hanger for foam board with a 3/16" minimum overall thickness

  • Measures 1 1/2" long and 1/2" wide

  • Holds 1 lb (one hanger) to 2 lbs (two hangers)

  • Best for hanging foam board with wire

Instructions

  1. Lay the foam board face down on a clean, hard surface.

  2. Mark the position of the  Kwik Hanger on the back of the foam board with a pencil.

Note: Do not use  foamboard metal hangers on any board less than 3/16" thick or the hanger prongs will penetrate through to the front surface, nor on hard-faced foam board such as Gatorboard/Gatorfoam which the hanger prongs cannot penetrate.

  1. Push the  Kwik  Hanger down and forward simultaneously using your thumb and forefinger until the underside of the hanger is fully flush against the board’s surface.

  2. Press down on the Kwik Hanger's arrow-point center anchor with the tip of a flathead screwdriver or similar blunt object to lock the hanger in place.

  3. Hold down the locked portion of the hanger in place, then bend the upper portion back slightly, raising it to ¼ inch above the board.

  4. If using two  Kwik Hangers, place each on its own  picture hook to keep  foamboard-mounted art level when hung.

  5. If you are using picture wire in combination with  Kwik Hangers, put 2-3 inches of sturdy tape crossways over the locked section of each hanger to help hold it in place.

  6. To remove a Kwik Hanger, wiggle it until it loosens, then pull it out. Discard the used hanger and do not reuse it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q How do I install foamboard hangers and what tools or hardware do I need?

Installation depends on the type. Adhesive foamboard hangers peel and stick directly to the back of your foam board—no tools needed. Sawtooth foam hangers have prongs that press into the foam backing. Kwik hangers allow wire hanging from foam board. Magnetic poster hangers clamp onto the top and bottom edges of a poster without any puncturing. For more details, check our guide: Everything You Need to Know About Foam Board Hangers.

Q Can I remove foamboard hangers without damaging the artwork?

Magnetic poster hangers cause no damage since they clamp onto the edges without puncturing the material. Adhesive hangers may leave residue if removed. Sawtooth foam hangers create small prong holes in the backing. For damage-free options, magnetic hangers are recommended.

Q How much weight can foamboard hangers safely hold?

Foamboard hangers are designed for lightweight applications. They are best suited for foam board prints, posters, and lightweight signage. Check each product listing for the specific weight rating.

Q What wall types are foamboard hangers compatible with?

Foamboard hangers mount on the artwork itself, so they work with any wall type when paired with an appropriate wall hook or screw. Adhesive hangers can also be used on smooth surfaces for temporary displays without wall hardware.

Q What kinds of art or decor work best with foamboard hangers?

Foamboard hangers are designed for art with foam board backing, foam board prints, foam board posters, lightweight signage, and unframed posters. They are ideal for temporary displays, trade shows, classrooms, and retail environments.
