The T-head security screw is a T-shaped screw that locks frames into the bracket on a frame. It keeps the frame stable and diverts the risk of falling, theft, and earthquake damage. The screw is rotated 90 degrees once it’s inside the security mounting plate and is the key component that makes security kits truly secure.

Measures 1 9/16" long and 1/4" wide, T-head measures 1/2" long, ⅛” wide, and 1/16" deep. The thickness of the "T" is 0.134".
Measure from the lower edge of the frame's bottom rail to the center of the slot in the mounting plates (not included).
Drill a 5/16" dia. hole at the marked spot and gently hammer a blue T-Head screw plastic anchor (not included) into the drilled hole until it’s flush with the wall surface.
Thread the T-Head screw into the plastic anchor until about 3/8" extends from the wall surface. Start by hand and complete using the security wrench (not included). Then, align the T-Head to a final horizontal position.
Hang the frame on the wall brackets (not included). The T-Head screw should fall inside the slot of the mounting plate on the bottom rail.
From the right-hand side, slide the security wrench under the bottom edge of the frame and, without lifting the frame from the wall, engage and rotate the T-Head screw clockwise with a one-quarter turn to a vertical position. The frame is now locked to the wall.
For metal frames
Measure the distance on your metal frame from the outer edge to the center of the channel. This dimension can vary with different types of metal frames.

QWhat wall types can I use the T-Head Security Screw on?
The T-Head Security Screw is designed for wood.
QHow do I install the T-Head Security Screw?
These screws are used to install picture hanging hardware like D-rings and strap hangers onto the back of frames. Use a screwdriver to drive the screw through the hanger and into the frame.
QWhat pack sizes is the T-Head Security Screw available in?
Available in: 10 Pack ($0.84 Each), 100 Pack ($0.50 Each), 1000 Pack ($0.26 Each). Per-unit pricing decreases with larger quantities.
QHow does the security locking mechanism work?
Security kits use a T-head screw locking mechanism that requires a special security wrench to remove. This prevents unauthorized removal of frames in galleries, hotels, offices, and public spaces.
