Metal Frame Notch Hanger

S-HWR-09X

Size: 10 Pack ($0.70 Each)

About the product

Notch hangers are  sawtooth hangers for metal frame  picture hanging  with a snapping mechanism designed to clip onto the frame channel so you can  hang  your frames securely. Metal notch  wall hangers are bulkier than normal sawtooth  picture hangers to provide a stronger hold on metal frames, and they offer a quick and easy installation with no extra tools needed.

  • Picture hanger for metal frames compatible with Nielsen profile #11 frames with a 3/8" channel opening

  • Measures ⅝” long and 1 ⅜” wide

  • Weight capacity is based on how heavy the metal frame itself is, not the hanger—check your frame’s manufacturer specifications to be sure.

  • Compatible with most standard metal picture frames in the market under Nielsen, Clark, Designer, Global Art, etc.

Instructions

  1. Check the size of your frame. Small to medium frames need only one notch hanger, but if your frame is larger, you can add a second one.

  2. If you’re using just one hanger, place it in the middle of the top frame channel. If using two, space them apart at an equal distance from the sides of the frame.

  3. Press the sawtooth down into the channel until it snaps into place.

  4. Hang the frame.

Dos and Don'ts When Using Metal Frame Hangers

Frequently Asked Questions

Q How do I install sawtooth hangers and what tools or hardware do I need?

Installation depends on the type of sawtooth hanger. Nailess sawtooth hangers have built-in prongs that you press or hammer directly into the back of a wood frame—no screws or nails needed. Screw-on sawtooths require a screwdriver and the included screws. Snap-in sawtooth hangers clip into the channel of a metal frame. For a detailed walkthrough, check our guide: Do's and Don'ts When Using Sawtooth Hangers.

Q Can I remove sawtooth hangers without damaging my walls?

Yes. Sawtooth hangers attach to the back of the frame, not the wall, so removing them causes no wall damage. The frame hangs on a wall screw or nail. To remove the frame, simply lift it off the wall hardware.

Q How much weight can sawtooth hangers safely hold?

Weight capacity varies by design. Our sawtooth hangers range from lightweight nailess models suitable for small frames to our Heavy Duty and Mega Sawtooth hangers built for heavier pieces. Check each product listing for the specific weight rating.

Q What wall types are sawtooth hangers compatible with?

Sawtooth hangers mount on the frame, not the wall, so they work with any wall type as long as you use an appropriate wall screw or hook. Pair them with drywall screws for drywall, masonry anchors for brick or concrete, or wood screws for wood panels.

Q What kinds of frames or decor work best with sawtooth hangers?

Sawtooth hangers work with both wood and metal frames. Nailess and screw-on designs are best for wooden frames, while snap-in sawtooth hangers are designed for the industry-standard Nielsen metal frame channel. They are ideal for picture frames, small signs, and lightweight wall art.
