Large Sawtooth Nailess Black

S-HWR-3920X

Size: 10 Pack ($0.34 Each)

About the product

The large nailess sawtooth frame hanger is designed with built-in prongs that allow easy attachment on wood without screws or nails. Its hardened finish lets the sawtooth hanger be hammered in without deforming, while its unique pronged design provides a quick and easy installation in just seconds.

    • Self-attaching, no-nail sawtooth hanger for wood frames

    • Measures ¼” wide and 1 ¾” long

    • Supports pictures, art, mirrors, and wall decor up to 10 lbs

    • No additional hardware required

    • Tempered steel with a black oxide finish

    Instructions

    1. Lay the frame face down on a blanket or soft surface.

    2. Position the nailess sawtooth so that it’s centered left-to-right on the top rail, a little down from the upper edge of the frame. The serrated edge should face down.

    3. If installing on extremely hard wood, drill small pilot holes for the nailess sawtooth hanger’s legs.

    4. Use a small hammer to tap the nailess sawtooth hanger in place, taking care not to break the glass on the frame, if any. About 1/4“ of each prong should go into the wood for maximum support. When properly seated, the shoulders of a nailess sawtooth hanger should rest on the surface of the frame rail, leaving approximately a 1/8" gap between the back of the hanger and the surface of the rail.

    5. Hang the picture on the wall, ensuring the nail in the wall is tight and secure before using it to hang the frame. TIP: Always use a headed nail, not a brad, and position the frame on the nail so that the nail is caught firmly on the sawtooth hanger.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q How do I install sawtooth hangers and what tools or hardware do I need?

Installation depends on the type of sawtooth hanger. Nailess sawtooth hangers have built-in prongs that you press or hammer directly into the back of a wood frame—no screws or nails needed. Screw-on sawtooths require a screwdriver and the included screws. Snap-in sawtooth hangers clip into the channel of a metal frame. For a detailed walkthrough, check our guide: Do's and Don'ts When Using Sawtooth Hangers.

Q Can I remove sawtooth hangers without damaging my walls?

Yes. Sawtooth hangers attach to the back of the frame, not the wall, so removing them causes no wall damage. The frame hangs on a wall screw or nail. To remove the frame, simply lift it off the wall hardware.

Q How much weight can sawtooth hangers safely hold?

Weight capacity varies by design. Our sawtooth hangers range from lightweight nailess models suitable for small frames to our Heavy Duty and Mega Sawtooth hangers built for heavier pieces. Check each product listing for the specific weight rating.

Q What wall types are sawtooth hangers compatible with?

Sawtooth hangers mount on the frame, not the wall, so they work with any wall type as long as you use an appropriate wall screw or hook. Pair them with drywall screws for drywall, masonry anchors for brick or concrete, or wood screws for wood panels.

Q What kinds of frames or decor work best with sawtooth hangers?

Sawtooth hangers work with both wood and metal frames. Nailess and screw-on designs are best for wooden frames, while snap-in sawtooth hangers are designed for the industry-standard Nielsen metal frame channel. They are ideal for picture frames, small signs, and lightweight wall art.
