1/4“ Canvas Offset Clips

S-HWR-OS14X

Size: 10 Packs ($0.20 each)

About the product

Canvas clips, also known as offsets, are L-shaped metal hardware that secure canvas art into frames with a shallower depth. One leg fastens onto the back of the frame while a second leg holds the canvas stretcher in place. Canvas offset clips are thus a quick, no-fuss solution for repurposing frames for canvas art. They come in three sizes to accommodate the difference between the canvas stretcher and the frame rabbet as they fasten the wooden canvas stretcher bars into the frame.

    • Canvas clips for securing wooden canvas stretchers and heavier and thicker wood frames

    • Measures ¼”

    • Includes #6 x ⅜ screws (1 per clip)

    Instructions

      1. Place the canvas into the loading frame and measure the rise of the frame or canvas, depending on which one is deeper (i.e. measure how much of which is projecting past the other). Determine what size of clip to use based on this.

      2. For small and medium frames, position one clip on each side of the frame. For bigger frames, space the clips out at 4-5” intervals.                                                                                                                                                                                      Note: If the frame is deeper than the canvas, it’s best to use a double-hole canvas clip. If you want to use the single-hole variety, you’ll need to attach the offset to the stretcher instead of the frame.

      3. Fasten the clips using an awl or a screwdriver.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Q What products are in the miscellaneous collection?

This collection includes picture hanging tools and hardware that don't fit into our main categories: canvas offset clips, frame corner braces, spring clips (Z-clips), mirror clips, plate hangers, furniture leveling feet, felt pads, clip-it strips, and mini easels. These products complement your main hanging hardware.

Q What are canvas offset clips used for?

Canvas offset clips secure a stretched canvas inside a frame without adhesive or permanent fastening. They come in 1/8-inch, 1/4-inch, and 1/2-inch sizes to accommodate different canvas depths. The clip grips the frame edge and presses against the canvas stretcher bar to hold it in place.

Q How do plate hangers work?

Plate hangers use spring-loaded wire arms that grip the rim of a decorative plate, allowing you to hang it on the wall like a picture. Choose the right size hanger to match your plate's diameter for a secure fit.

Q What are spring clips (Z-clips) used for?

Spring clips, also called Z-clips, are used to secure glass, backing, or panels inside picture frames and window screens. They fit into a 3/8-inch channel and apply spring tension to hold components firmly in place.

Q Do you sell furniture protection products?

Yes. Our miscellaneous collection includes furniture leveling feet and screw-on furniture felt pads that protect floor surfaces from scratches and help level uneven furniture. These are sold individually and in bulk.
