Description

The Mega Sawtooth Hanger is the largest and strongest sawtooth hanger commercially available. Unlike standard sawtooth hangers, which are intended for use on relatively light pictures, this sawtooth is rated to support 250 pounds.

A full 3 1/2" long, Mega Sawtooth Hangers are made from heavy 14 gauge steel (approximately 1/16" thick). They are supplied with four #8 x 1/2" screws, but longer screws can be substituted to insure the holding power.

Be certain that the wall nail or screw you use in conjunction with this sawtooth hanger is strong enough to support the weight of the object you are hanging, that it is in a wall stud or is otherwise secure in the wall, and that it fits securely on the teeth of the hanger.

Instructions

  1. Lay the picture frame face down on a blanket or soft surface.
  2. If only one hanger is used, it should centered left-to-right on the back side of the top rail, a little down from the top edge, with the serrated edge of the sawtooth facing down.
  3. Use two Mega Sawtooth Hangers for larger frames, spacing them apart on the top rail. Make sure they are level with each other on the frame (an equal distance down from the the top edge of the top rail).
  4. Mark and drill pilot holes before installing the hanger screws, especially on hardwood frames.
  5. Use the longest screws you can, but check to be sure they will not break out on front surface of the frame. The #8 x 1/2" screws provided are usually adequate.
  6. Make sure that the hardware in the wall that the picture will be hanging on is solid and in no danger of pulling out of the wall under load.
